When you use EB-TY fasteners, you won't have those unsightly surface scars, such as splinters, holes, or puddle areas that so often result in customer complaints and callbacks. The fasteners are virtually invisible ... above or below the deck. The dark color of the fasteners blends with the shadow of the joints.

EB-TY fasteners automatically set even 3/32" or 1/4" spacing between deck boards, and ensure that all deck boards are at a level, uniform height, highlighting the beauty of the decking material. We offer an EB-TY fastener for every type of wood and composite.

The EB-TY Hidden Deck Fasteners consists of black biscuits that are inserted into slots or kerfs cut by a biscuit joiner, or router bit, at each joist. One stainless steel #7 2-1/4" screw holds each biscuit tight, and after applying beads of exterior construction glue to each joist, the next deck board slips over the exposed EB-TY fasteners. It's fast and easy.

EB-TY Hidden Deck Fasteners save you time and money. You work from the top surface when using EB-TY fasteners, so you can build decks as close to the ground as you want. And installation takes only one EB-TY fastener and one screw wherever a deck board intersects with a joist. EB-TY fasteners installed in hardwoods save you labor over other fastening techniques such as straight screws, screws and plugs, or under mount installations.

What size boarding, in terms of length and width, works best for EB-TY installation?
EB-TY Hidden Deck Fasteners work with any size decking material. Original Big EB-TY Hidden Deck Fasteners work especially well with thicker boards, such as 2"x4" and 2"x6", decking material. These larger fasteners are ideal for heavy-duty applications such as docks, boardwalks, etc.

What kind of ventilation system must a deck have for EB-TY Hidden Deck Fasteners to work best?

Allow air to flow freely through the skirting, as well as below the deck. Ventilation is essential for a deck's long-term stability. Lack of ventilation prevents the quick evaporation of water draining through your deck, creating a constant source of moisture on the back of the deck boards. Moisture can lead to cupping with some brands of decking.

You do all work from above, so your deck can be as close to the ground as you want to make it. You need only one EB-TY fastener and one screw wherever a deck board intersects with a joist.

If using EBE002 Big Hidden Deck Fasteners, cut 0.1630" groove 1/2" from the bottom surface of the decking material.

For decking material thicker than 1", cut groove 0.38725" (approx. 3/8") from the bottom surface for EBE004 and EBE005 fasteners.

Getting Started
Review the installation instructions provided by the lumber supplier and / or producer prior to installing the EB-TY fastening systems.

The EB-TY fastening systems have been designed to accommodate special board spacing and board thickness. To ensure top quality results, moisture in deck boards should reach appropriate moisture level of the surroundings prior to installation.
