Fastening Practices

• Install 2 screws at every joist.
• Pre-drilling pilot holes when fastening the ends of boards can help to avoid splitting (within 1 1/2" of board end).
• Install screws no closer than 3/4" from edge of board.
• On harder composites, such as WeatherBest, pre-drilling may help achieve a more finished look.

Color Match Note:
It is important to refer to the composite lumber manufacturer's technical data to understand what color their lumber will fade to. Choose a fastener to match this faded color.
