The
enjoyment of a Trex deck is truly timeless.
The combination of reclaimed wood and plastic in Trex products
offers the best qualities of both these materials. The plastic
shields the wood from moisture and insect damage, so there's
no rotting or splintering. The wood in the product protects
the plastic from UV damage and provides your deck a solid,
natural feel. Trex deck owners don't have to worry about
costly and time-consuming sealing, staining, or replacing
damaged deck boards, and it looks great year after year.
Trex

Trex decking is a very popular wood and plastic composite.
The Trex process is supported by patented technology and
developed know-how. With field installations nearly a decade
old, Trex decking and railing is a proven performer. Our
national building code listing by the three major U.S. building
code agencies is unequalled by any other non-wood decking
alternative.

Intricate shapes,
profiles, and patterns are possible with trex. No special

with most traditional fastening methods. It is recommended
to install all fasteners perpendicular to the boards. Suggested
fasteners are composite screws or hidden fasteners.

Color Choices and Natural Weathering
The
Trex colors' weathering process
is normal and does not harm the product.
Because of its wood content, natural color shifts do
occur in Trex products. Twelve to sixteen weeks of exposure
to sunlight and rain are typically required for Trex
to achieve its faded color. This process is completely
harmless to Trex products and does not affect their
durability.
The "after
weathering" color of Trex may be different from
the colors shown in the Trex Color Palette guide. There
may also be color variation between boards. This is
normal and gives Trex its distinctive look and character.
The weathering
process may be accelerated in dry areas by periodically
wetting down the deck using a garden hose. Areas in
heavy shade, or vertical components such as posts and
balusters, may take considerably longer to fade.
Note:
On each color image below, on the left is the new color
finish and on the right is the weathered color finish.

Cleaning Tips
All exterior building materials require cleaning. We recommend
basic cleaning with a composite deck cleaner or a combination
of soap, hot water, and a soft bristle brush at the time
of installation, and semi-annually (typically Spring and
Fall) after the installation. This will help to maintain
the beauty of Trex decking, fencing, railing, and outdoor
trim.
