Trex© Composite Decking
Trex© Composite Decking, Railing and Trim
Tarheel Wood Treating is the largest stocking
Trex dealer in North Carolina.
The enjoyment of a Trex deck is truly timeless.
The combination of reclaimed wood and plastic in Trex products offers the best qualities of both these materials. The plastic shields the wood from moisture and insect damage, so there's no rotting or splintering. The wood in the product protects the plastic from UV damage and provides your deck a solid, natural feel. Trex deck owners don't have to worry about costly and time-consuming sealing, staining, or replacing damaged deck boards, and it looks great year after year.
Trex Advantages over Wood Deck Surfaces
- Will not rot or deteriorate due to harsh weather.
- Available in three finishes — smooth, wood grain or tropical hardwood.
- Splinter-free.
- Contains no toxic chemicals or preservatives.
- Resists moisture, insects and sunlight.
- The perfect choice for pools, hot tub, spas.
- Excellent traction, even when wet.
Trex© offers a full range of rich colors to consider when planning your deck - making your design options truly limitless. Mix and match colors to create unique patterns and color combinations all your own.
Trex decking is a very popular wood and plastic composite. The Trex process is supported by patented technology and developed know-how. With field installations nearly a decade old, Trex decking and railing is a proven performer. Our national building code listing by the three major U.S. building code agencies is unequalled by any other non-wood decking alternative.

Trex© Accents Composite Decking, Railing and Trim
The grain is subtle. The beauty isn't.
There's nothing like the understated beauty of a subtle wood grain. Trex Accents offers you the warm, natural look of wood, but with the carefree ease of Trex. Best of all, both sides of Trex Accents can be used - with a subtle wood grain pattern on one side and a smooth, refined look on the other. The possibilities are endless, but not the maintenance.

Trex Accents Decking Profiles:
5/4 Board = 1.1" x 5.5"
2x6 Board = 1.5" x 5.5"
Trex Accents is reversible. The wood grain of Trex Accents on one side, the smooth surface of Trex Origins™ on the other. Together, they give you unprecedented freedom to create a unique outdoor space. Create a warm, traditional feeling. Or make it clean and contemporary. Work with spectacular curves and patterns. Or combine textures with rich colors. Whichever direction you choose, the possibilities are endless.

Trex Railings
A Trex deck is not complete without Trex Railing.
The two go hand-in-hand, working as a team to create your perfect outdoor experience. Railing brings more colors, styles and shapes to a deck’s overall look – opening up even more design possibilities while bringing the same durability, strength and timeless beauty of Trex Decking.
Trex Artisan Series Railing™
A timeless look, without the wasted time of painting.
Complete your new Trex deck with the classic elegance of Trex Artisan Series Railing. The look of painted wood beautifully complements any traditional architecture. Fibrex© offers significant strength benefits with minimal thermal expansion frequently seen in vinyl railing systems. And of course, because it’s Trex, the Artisan Series will never rot, splinter or warp - so there’s no painting, staining or sanding required.
- Easy Assembly - precisely tooled to fit together quickly for the do-it-yourselfer or contractor.
- Low Maintenance - durable, weatherproof composite is easy to keep clean.

Cleaning Tips:
All exterior building materials require cleaning. We recommend basic cleaning with a composite deck cleaner or a combination of soap, hot water, and a soft bristle brush at the time of installation, and semi-annually (typically Spring and Fall) after the installation. This will help to maintain the beauty of Trex decking, fencing, railing, and outdoor trim.

Trex Installation Tools and Fasteners
Intricate shapes, profiles, and patterns are possible with trex. No special tools are required. For best results, use carbide-tipped blades and router bits.
Trex can be assembled with most traditional fastening methods. It is recommended to install all fasteners perpendicular to the boards. Suggested fasteners are composite screws or hidden fasteners.
