The
WeatherBest®
Difference
From
extravagant to simple, WeatherBest composite decking is the
right choice, no matter how you imagine your deck. WeatherBest
decking is easy to mistake for the real thing. All the look,
feel, and beauty of natural wood, but with none of the maintenance.
WeatherBest stays straight and true, never twisted or crooked.
It cuts, drills and installs like wood, can go around radius
curves and is resistant to warping, splitting and splintering.

WeatherBest
composite decking is textured and embossed to look like real
wood, but it offers
a feature you won't find in any traditional wood product:
Low maintenance. Any wood deck requires an ongoing investment,
but with WeatherBest products, there's no staining, no sealing
and no painting. WeatherBest decking and railing can be used
to build a deck with style and strength you can enjoy for
years.
Product
Quality
Our products are made from a high quality composite that gives
you the distinct look and feel of natural wood, with low maintenance.
The WeatherBest decking is made from wood flour mixed with
High Density Polyethylene plastic and additives which are
extruded under high pressure and heat. Surfaces are then brushed
or embossed onto boards for the natural look of wood. The
special formulation includes zinc borates to protect against
fungal decay. It also inhibits the growth of mold.
That
means you can build your own backyard retreat with all of
the qualities you love about traditional wood decks, but avoid
the many of the hassles of having to maintain one.
WeatherBest®
Composite Decking
comes ready-to-install with pre-grooved boards
that accommodate
hidden fasteners.
Many
homeowners want an unobstructed look to their finished decking
boards. So WeatherBest can be installed easily using the Phantom
hidden fastening systems. The fasteners
are inserted between WeatherBest deck boards, then screwed
down to the joists below. Not only is the decking held in
place horizontally by each individual board for added structural
strength, the screws are invisible, snug to the substructure,
hidden by the boards above them.

Premium Grain Decking
Premium Grains For A Premium
Look
WeatherBest Premium Grains offer you four composite decking
wood-grain colors that each come alive in two ways, thanks
to reversible boards. And because our decking materials resist
cracking, splintering and decay, you'll never have to sand,
stain or seal it.
Each
eye-catching, Premium Grain color offers an authentic,
wood-like look. Plus, each board is reversible to
suit your particular deck design. On one side, our “rough
sawn” process creates a natural wood grain texture and
blends color with subtle grain patterns to complete the wood-like
appearance. On the other side, we've designed a smooth, non-raised,
straight-grain appearance that emphasizes and enlivens color
for a smooth, refined look.
WeatherBest
Premium Grain decking is available in .910” x 5.40”

Tropical Grain Decking
Two
Tropical Colors for a One-of-a-Kind Look
WeatherBest Tropical colors provide a hardwood-like
surface to both sides of each board to mimic the exotic
multi-chromatic surfaces found in rare tropical species.
And there's nothing to sand, stain or seal.
Each nature inspired
Tropical color brings the rich, hardwood look of
exotic, tropical wood species, with enduring, better-than-wood
beauty. Each color mimics the iridescent, multi-toned appearance
of these special woods. But, you won't have to worry about
the extensive upkeep common with these special woods. And,
unlike natural wood, these boards won't go grey with time!
With WeatherBest,
both sides of each Tropical plank present a smooth,
uniform surface with a controlled pattern of varied tones
to give each board a unique look. WeatherBest Tropical
decking gives you head-turning results without the care required
by temperamental natural hardwood.

Installation
Tips
WeatherBest
Installation Guide
(14 pages,
PDF, 1.97 MB)
Not
only does WeatherBest decking look like wood, it cuts, drills
and installs just like it, too. There’s no need for
special equipment. You can use standard tools and standard
carbide-tipped saw blades. Carbide-tip blades with two teeth
per inch work well and are recommended for best performance.
WeatherBest decking
now comes ready-to-install with pre-grooved
deck boards that accommodate Phantom
Hidden Fasteners.
The Phantom
Hidden Fasteners are inserted between the deck boards,
then screwed down to the joists below. Not only is the decking
held in place horizontally by each individual board for
added structural strength, the screws are invisible, snug
to the substructure, hidden by the boards above them.
Other fasteners
used are #8 x 2 1/2" stainless
steel fasteners with countersink-type heads, because this
type of screw has been tested with our product in accordance
with AC-174. Pre-drilling is generally not required if you
use self-tapping #8 x 2 1/2" screws.
Pre-drilling
is recommended for railing installations — predrilling
holes provides a more attractive installation. Screws should
be a minimum of 1 inch from ends.
There
are new stainless steel, self-tapping screws available in
most markets. We recommend TrapEase®
screws. Some pre- drilling may be required.
Please note: WeatherBest
decking should not be used as a structural component.
Consult with state and local authorities in your area regarding
building codes and regulations for
structural members, joists, beams, studs, columns and stringers.
WeatherBest
Easy Deck Care
Install
WeatherBest and you eliminate the worry, expense and headaches
from caring for aging wood decks. With minimal maintenance,
you can avoid wood's drawbacks and enjoy your deck year in,
year out.
Just
Rinse with a Hose.
A simple garden hose will wash away dirt build-up. And a stiff
broom will remove most large debris.
Deal
with stains promptly. Don't allow them to
penetrate the surface or bake in the sun. To clean a grease
or oil stain, use any common household-degreasing agent. To
clean mold or mildew, use a deck cleaner containing sodium
hypochlorite.
Space
Boards
When installing WeatherBest composite decking, be sure the
boards are properly gapped (3/16'' apart). This will allow
water to drain from the deck surface. That will help prevent
pooling water where mold and mildew can grow.
